X-rays

While many people can commence chiropractic care without the need for an x-ray, there are definitely certain patients, problems, and circumstances where x-rays are either warranted or provide a useful tool for further assessment, diagnosis, and clarification of the problem and relevant anatomy.

During your First Visit (Initial Consultation), your chiropractor will thoroughly review your case history and examination findings to determine if an x-ray is appropriate. As a rule, we only recommend x-rays where they will provide useful information for your diagnosis or care, where the benefit of such films is evident, and where having a clearer view of your body’s structure or alignment is clinically helpful.

In some cases, having an x-ray also provides both doctor and patient with peace of mind and a heightened level of certainty regarding the diagnosis, the correct course of care, and treatment planning for the best possible outcome.

If x-rays are needed, your chiropractor will discuss this with you and obtain your consent.

Modern x-rays provide high quality films with very low exposure to patients, so they are a quick, safe and effective way to take a more in-depth view of your problem.

Because we take them in-house, x-rays will usually only cost an additional £60 to £80.

Because we use digital x-ray, this provides us with an instant view of your films, which we can usually review and discuss with you on the same day, often allowing us to proceed with chiropractic treatment on your First Visit.
