Jaw Problems
Many people suffer with jaw problems but have no idea who to see and where to get help.
Do you go to your GP, dentist, or chiropractor?
Who is most specialised to help?
Obviously, the answer depends somewhat on the nature of the problem. For example, if you are having jaw pain related to a tooth infection or an impacted wisdom tooth, then your dentist is definitely the right person for the job.
If, however, you are suffering from more traditional jaw problems such as TMJ pain, tension, clicking, locking, loss of jaw movement, and misalignment, then you will certainly find help with your chiropractor.
Many of our chiropractors here at GB Chiropractic have experience and advanced training in jaw problems and TMJ disorders. They will assess your jaw problem on your First Visit and can determine if chiropractic treatment may be helpful in improving or resolving the issue.
Most common problems of the jaw are treatable and respond well to chiropractic.

The Unhappy Triad of Jaw Pain, Neck Pain and Headache
About 70% of people who have a jaw problem or experience jaw pain also experience neck pain or headache – and many people have all three! These three issues are often inter-related anatomically and may have a common cause due to posture or misalignment. When indicated, your chiropractor will often assess and treat all three areas together for best results.
Clenching and Grinding (Bruxism)
Some people clench their jaw or grind their teeth, often at night during sleep. As a result, they may wake up in the morning with notable jaw pain, tension, or discomfort. While the underlying habit can be difficult to control, people who do this will often find relief from chiropractic, alongside the use of a night guard.
